About the Common Ink Cap

Coprinopsis atramentaria, tasty and edible, but alcohol before or after a meal triggers flushing, pounding heart and sickness. The coprine toxin works like the drug antabuse. Avoid alcohol for several days on either side. Older caps dissolve into black ink. Grooved gray caps fruit in troops.
