About the Oyster Mushroom

One of the most widely cultivated mushrooms globally. They are carnivorous - they trap and digest nematodes using a toxin that paralyzes them within minutes. They can break down petroleum hydrocarbons and are used in bioremediation. Easy to grow at home on straw or coffee grounds. Their oyster-shell shape gives them their name. Multiple color varieties exist.
