About the Agarikon
A rare old-growth forest mushroom that can live 75+ years. Paul Stamets calls it the most important mushroom for human medicine. Shows strong antiviral activity in laboratory studies, including against flu and pox viruses. Extremely rare - found only in ancient forests of the Pacific Northwest. Their tube-like fruiting body hangs like a beehive from tree trunks. Threatened by old-growth logging.
