About the Shaggy Ink Cap
Delicious when young but must be consumed within hours of picking - they self-digest into black ink (deliquesce) within 24 hours. This ink was actually used as writing ink in the past. They are called lawyers wigs in Britain for their shaggy appearance. Contain coprine, which causes severe reactions with alcohol - do not drink within 48 hours of eating them.
