About the King Bolete
Also called porcini (little piglet in Italian). One of the most prized edible wild mushrooms in European cuisine. Their thick, meaty stem and brown cap are distinctive. They form mycorrhizal relationships with trees and cannot be cultivated. Dried porcini are a staple in Italian cooking. They can grow quite large - specimens over 1 kg are found. Russian name bely grib means white mushroom.
