About the Amanita Muscaria Variant (Pantherina)
More toxic than the fly agaric but less well-known. Brown cap with white warts. Contains higher concentrations of ibotenic acid. Confused with edible species by inexperienced foragers. Found in similar habitats to the death cap. Responsible for more poisonings than fly agaric. The Pantherina variety is considered more dangerous than the classic red variety.
